Dubai Harbour: Where the Marina District Stands Now

We wrote this article in 2020, when the project was still a plan. We revised it in November 2026.
Dubai Harbour stands between Palm Jumeirah and Bluewaters Island, on reclaimed land.
In 2020 we wrote about the plans. Much has been built since, and some numbers have changed.
In short
- The marina has about 700 berths, for yachts up to 160 metres.
- The two cruise terminals were completed in 2020.
- In 2021, 7,500 homes were being built here. We found no newer overall figure.
The marina
The Yacht Harbour Association lists about 700 berths, for yachts up to 160 metres. In January 2024 the marina was accredited with 5 Gold Anchors.
Our old article mentioned 1,400 new berths. The planning consultant’s page says 1,145, and today’s listing about 700. The numbers changed during planning.

Cruise terminals and homes
The National reported in 2021 that the two cruise terminals were completed in 2020. The district plan included 24 residential towers and 7,500 homes, then under construction. Emaar was building the homes, and Shamal Holding managed the harbour.
The lighthouse
Our 2020 article described a 135-metre lighthouse tower. We found no recent, reliable source for it, so we do not say it was built.

What it means for a buyer
Near a marina, the lifestyle matters. Still, ask about the service charge and what is already finished in the area.
